Privacy at GriefHacks
You can read GriefHacks without creating an account or joining the newsletter.
GriefHacks is a personal website run by Rachel, who writes as Momma R. This notice explains the information involved when you read, subscribe, send a message, or follow a purchase link.
Reading the site
The site is hosted on GitHub Pages. GitHub states that visitors’ IP addresses are logged for security purposes. See GitHub’s explanation of Pages and its privacy statement.
The pages themselves do not include advertising or analytics scripts, set cookies, or save checklist answers. Illustrations and fonts are served with the site or provided by your device. The support-kit checkboxes stay in your browser and are not sent to GriefHacks.
Newsletter subscriptions
If you subscribe, your email address is sent to Buttondown to manage the subscription and send newsletter emails. Buttondown may process technical, delivery, and email-interaction information as described in its privacy policy.
You can unsubscribe using the link in a newsletter email. Unsubscribing stops future newsletter emails; if you also want to ask about or request deletion of information held for GriefHacks, use the contact form.
Website feedback and privacy requests
The contact form asks for an email address and message, with an optional name. These are sent through Formspree to allow a response and management of your request. Formspree may also process technical information for delivery and spam prevention. See Formspree’s privacy policy.
Sending feedback does not add you to the newsletter. Please avoid including sensitive health information or other people’s private details in your message.
Buying the guide or following other links
The guide’s purchase link takes you to Gumroad. Checkout and payment processing take place there, not on this website. See Gumroad’s privacy policy for purchase and account information. Other linked websites have their own privacy practices.
Questions or changes to your information
Use the contact form to ask about information you have provided to GriefHacks or to request a correction or deletion. Information held independently by hosting, newsletter, contact-form, or payment providers is also subject to their policies.
